As of September 6, 2021, Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 death toll surpassed 10,000 and the total number of confirmed cases topped 462,000. The surge in confirmed cases have strained the local medical systems and facilities, creating an urgent need for additional support. Our aim is to provide the critical and immediate need for oxygen concentrators and pulse oximeters in hospitals and intermediate care centers and augment the facilities for pediatric care of the Infectious Diseases Hospital (IDH).
Our response projects funds both immediate needs and long-term recovery. Our top priorities for COVID-19 pandemic response include:
- IDH COVID Project – Establish a 5-bed High Dependency Unit (HDU) for children at the Infectious Diseases Hospital (IDH)
- Provide Oxygen Concentrators to hospitals in urgent need
- Provide Pulse Oximeters for hospitals and Intermediate Care Centers in urgent need
