Pulse Oximeter Project

Following an assessment made by a Response Team member working at the Family Health Bureau (FHB), the NCMCAA purchased 500 Pulse Oximeters (POs) for distribution to rural hospitals and rural intermediate care centers (ICCs) throughout the island. The total project cost was LKR 1.45 million with each PO(with batteries) costing approximately, LKR 3000.

The total project cost was LKR 1.45 million with each PO(with batteries) costing  approximately, LKR 3000.

The POs were delivered to the FHB, which were duly inventoried and added to their stock control system. From 22 September, the POs were delivered through the district health stores (RMSD) to the local hospitals and ICCs in critical need of POs.

In the event of a decline in COVID cases in a particular ICC/Hospital, the Medical Officer in Charge will reissue the POs to a higher-level Hospital. A complete distribution list will be sent to the NCMCAA in due course, once the distribution is completed.
